Dear colleagues and readers !

We welcome you on the site of the interdepartmental scientific and methodological collection “Criminalistics and Forensics”, which has been issued by Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for more than 55 years.

One of the current activities of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise since its starting point was the spread of knowledge on forensic issues. The establishment of edition “Criminalistics and Forensics” was an important step in this activity. On its pages were formed the ideas of new directions for the development of forensic examination, proposals for the development and improvement of methods of various types of forensic research.

Continuing the best traditions of our predecessors, the Institute continues to do everything possible to meet the needs of society for information on the results of scientific research in the field of forensic science and forensic expertology.

A wide range of theoretical, practical, and methodological issues are discussed on the pages of the edition, scientific discussions are being conducted, domestic and foreign news in the field of forensic expertise is also covered.

Today, the publishing of the collection is formalized in Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On Forensic Examination”.

We are proud of the international recognition and inclusion of the collection “Criminalistics and Forensics” to the international database “Index Copernicus” and will work for its further European popularization.

We express our special thanks to all authors who submitted their articles for publication and participated in the formation of regular issues. The authors make a lot of creative efforts to develop and highlight in articles the most pressing and problematic issues arising among criminalists and forensic experts, law enforcement and judicial authorities, human rights activists, academics and teachers. 

We invite all interested authors to cooperate for the content of the edition and the expansion of its subjects in the field of forensics and forensic examination. We believe that our scientific and practical potential will become not only a source of knowledge, but will be also a powerful tool for solving a number of practical issues.

We wish inspiration and new meetings on the pages of the interdepartmental scientific and methodological collection “Criminalistics and Forensics”!
